Rick’s Lighting is an established and well-respected Charleston business with a great reputation. But like all good businesses, it has changed and grown. Their logo no longer said all they were and made them look dated. At the same time, they didn’t want to lose everything it stood for. What to do?
Miley Hallen Design created a logo evolution….a new treatment that would remind people of the old logo and it’s good associations, while looking contemporary and telling the story of what they do today. We used the blue of the well-known front sign (which was not being replaced) and a type reminiscent of the original. “Lighting” became “Lighting and Home” to remind customers that Rick’s has been including more Home Items to their inventory. Finally, we added a positioning line: See Your Home In a Whole New Light! to encourage people to think of Rick’s as an option for Home Redecorating, as well as seeing Rick’s itself in a whole new light!
